Hawaii Island police are investigating a reported sexual assault Tuesday afternoon in Hilo.

A woman reported being attacked by a man around 4:30 p.m. in the bathroom of a state facility in the Waiakea area, according to the Hawaii County Police Department. She was able to fight off her attacker, who fled in a red Ford Expedition with tan or gold at the bottom. The Ford is believed to have been built between 2003 and 2006.

The woman described the suspect as being in his early 20s, 6 feet tall, weighing between 160 pounds and 180 pounds with a thin build, curly blond hair and facial acne, according to police. He was wearing a white tank top and black surf shorts.
